Cancer Awareness and Health/Mental Wellbeing Support
Cross-Culture Hub CIC runs health and cancer awareness sessions to support Asian-immigrant and other minority communities in Southampton. Many participants face cultural, language, or economic barriers that make it harder to access healthcare, understand early warning signs of illness or prioritise their health. Our sessions provide culturally tailored information on cancer types, prevention, and early detection, helping participants recognise changes in their bodies and seek timely medical care. Through talks from health professionals, personal survivor stories and practical activities such as blood pressure checks and guidance on healthy lifestyles, participants gain confidence to make informed health choices. The project also offers support for hospital appointments and ongoing health guidance, reducing fear and stigma, encouraging open conversations and promoting overall wellbeing.
We collaborate closely with local healthcare professionals, organisations and community partners to enhance our sessions, provide expert advice, and offer additional support on general health and wellbeing. By welcoming people from diverse backgrounds, including South Asian, Black and White British communities, we foster inclusivity, cross-cultural learning and stronger community connections.
Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.
